The top leadership of Harakah al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah (Hamas), in their letter to the Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS), expressed deep appreciation to the Malaysian people of all walks of life for their sympathy toward the people of Palestine.
They also extended gratitude to all Palestinian factions engaged in jihad, led by Hamas, in confronting the brutality of the Zionist regime and its allied nations against the Palestinian people, especially in the small Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to the most violent and excessive attacks.
Hamas also apologized for being unable to send a representative to the 71st PAS Annual General Assembly, due to security factors following an immoral attack by Israel on their negotiators in Qatar on 9 September 2025, which was condemned by the majority of the international community.
PAS was also invited to share responsibility in expressing views and taking necessary steps to face the latest developments that pose great challenges to Islamic movements worldwide, which are like limbs of a single body.
According to political and military assessments, the willingness of the Zionist regime to accept the peace plan proposed by President Donald Trump shows early signs of their defeat and a preliminary victory for Hamas.
This is because the Zionist regime has failed, even after nearly two years of military operations, to conquer Gaza, eliminate Hamas, or remove its influence.
“Hamas must be destroyed.” This was Israel’s declared mission to the world.
Yet, despite its arrogance, the regime continues to defy the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the United Nations (UN), committing war crimes and acting without any sense of law or humanity.
They continue to boast of the slogan that the Israeli army is invincible and claim to act above the law, shielded by the endless flow of Western arms and the veto power used unjustly to protect Israel.
In order to rescue their troops, who were trapped under counterattacks by the Palestinian mujahideen led by Hamas, Israel was forced to rely on its big brother, the United States, to persuade Hamas through Arab and Islamic countries acting as intermediaries, an indication that the Zionist forces were already weakened.
Had they remained strong, they would have continued their assaults without agreeing to any ceasefire until achieving their declared objectives.
This failure has caused political, economic and military crises within Israel, including calls to end the unsuccessful operation and more crucially, to secure the release of Israeli soldiers captured by Hamas.
Demonstrations have erupted by the families of captives and their sympathizers, many of whom are now demoralized.
Some have fled the compulsory military draft, others have even harmed themselves.
There are movements to topple the coalition government, pressing Benjamin Netanyahu to resign as Prime Minister.
Only the extremists persist, those who still fight to uphold the myth of a “Greater Israel” and await the appearance of their so-called “Messiah.”
The decision by Hamas to accept Trump’s peace plan was made with strategic wisdom, to amend its flaws and reject the humiliating conditions that demanded Hamas disarm, surrender and be excluded from the interim administration of Gaza.
In the end, both Trump and Israel issued statements agreeing to include Hamas in subsequent negotiations.
Hamas had skillfully taken the bait thrown by Trump without swallowing the hook, demonstrating a high level of political wisdom, taking the positive implicit elements and rejecting the negative explicit ones.
Through this, Hamas introduced to the world the Islamic concept of prioritizing peace in international and interfaith relations, guided by the Qur’an and the prophetic wisdom of Rasulullah ﷺ, even toward enemies who commit aggression and atrocities.
Allah Almighty says:
“And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (61)
“But if they intend to deceive you, then sufficient for you is Allah. It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers. (62)
“And He brought together their hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together; but Allah brought them together. Indeed, He is Exalted in Might and Wise.” (63)
(Surah al-Anfal, 8:61–63)
The Hudaybiyyah Peace Treaty signed by Rasulullah ﷺ serves as the prophetic model.
During that time, Muslims were prevented from entering Makkah to perform ‘umrah.
When ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan (RA) was sent as a negotiator, rumors spread that he had been killed.
In response, Rasulullah ﷺ prepared for war, a decision consistent with both pre-Islamic custom and modern international law, to defend the honor of an emissary.
This act compelled the Quraysh leaders of Makkah to feel guilty and send their own delegation to negotiate peace.
The Prophet ﷺ, guided by divine revelation, accepted the peace proposal, even though its terms seemed unjust and unfavorable to Muslims.
Many Companions were reluctant, seeing only its outward disadvantage, but the Prophet ﷺ perceived its hidden wisdom and long-term benefits.
Among these were:
- Recognition of Madinah as a legitimate state.
- Protection for Muslims in Makkah who could not migrate.
- Freedom for da‘wah under peaceful conditions.
As peace spread, Arabs witnessed Islam’s justice and humanity, contrasting with their warlike traditions, which eventually led to the conquest of Makkah and the downfall of oppressive powers.
Likewise, the current ceasefire accepted by Hamas, unanimously supported by all Palestinian factions, carries many hidden blessings from Allah, blessings that not even Trump could buy with his multi-trillion-dollar offers.
The Israeli army agreed to withdraw from besieging Gaza in exchange for the release of Israeli captives, swapped for large numbers of Palestinian prisoners, many of whom had been detained for years.
The peace plan also opened the blockade for food and medical aid, halted indiscriminate attacks on civilians, particularly children, women, the elderly and the sick, and recognized Hamas as a legitimate negotiating entity.
Furthermore, the plan welcomed Hamas’ participation in a jointly administered Palestinian interim government with Arab and Islamic support, replacing Trump’s earlier idea of appointing a pro-Israel administration led by Tony Blair, the former UK Prime Minister.
This approach was well-received internationally, reshaping the global perception of Islam and undermining Zionist propaganda that portrayed Islam as violent or extremist.
Even though Israel rejected it, today’s borderless world allows people to see the true face of Islam, a faith that upholds justice and peace, not tyranny.
Indeed, Zionism, long claiming to represent the “chosen people”, has now revealed its most despised and cursed nature in the sight of Allah.
Allah Almighty says:
“The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey carrying books. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”
(Surah al-Jumu‘ah, 62:5)
And again:
“Say: Shall I inform you of those who are worse in recompense with Allah? They are those whom Allah has cursed and upon whom His wrath has fallen, and of whom He made apes and swine and those who worshiped false deities. Such are worse in position and further astray from the straight path.”
(Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:60)
When intellect is accompanied by oppression, its cruelty surpasses that of beasts, for it destroys all traces of mercy and humanity.
Allah Almighty says:
“Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some that split and water comes out, and there are some that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”
(Surah al-Baqarah, 2:74)
Time will reveal whether the Zionists will honor the agreements witnessed by the international community, though history shows they often betray Allah and His Messengers.
The wise step of Hamas is not retreat but strategic repositioning, gathering strength and reorganizing for the next phase of struggle, for Islam forbids surrendering to oppression.
Allah says:
“O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn your backs to them!”
(Surah al-Anfal, 8:15)
Though enemies may wield weapons that can destroy mountains, Allah’s promise never fails:
Allah says:
“And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains. So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.”
(Surah Ibrahim, 14:46–47)
Ultimately, Islam stands firm and open for there is no compulsion in faith, and truth always speaks for itself:
Allah says:
“And say, ‘The truth is from your Lord; so whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.’ Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose walls will surround them…”
(Surah al-Kahf, 18:29)
